“dance”
It was in the Bistro, where I’d never eaten or drank, but it was across from the radio station, so I’d been there, but I was still nervous. I didn’t know anyone and I wasn’t dressed for the occasion. Jess said it’d be fun, so we went. There was food and Jenny and Matt Bruno were there, dressed up for the New Century College awards dinner. After some speeches, they turned on the music and Jess went straight to the dance floor, alone. I didn’t recognize her: her body’s movements were familiar, but were they coming out of someone related to Dad, related to me? I ran up to her and grabbed her arm and said Who are you?! and she said Come on! Let’s DANCE!
